USCIS updated Form I-864 on August 31, 2026, to allow the agency to pull sponsor credit reports. The new form is mandatory immediately with no grace period.

Form I-864 Changed August 31, 2026 — No Grace Period for Old Version
USCIS published a new edition of Form I-864 (dated 08/24/26) effective August 31, 2026 with zero grace period. Using the old 10/17/24 edition after August 31 will result in outright rejection. New version adds credit-report authorization.
